Eyes of Arabia

Eyes of Arabia was born in 2002 by Dawn Quinones.  She is a solo artist but on special occasions performs as part of a duo.  This solo artist originated in California but has captivated audiences in distant lands with her spectacular shows.  Her International performances include countries such as Egypt and Puerto Rico.  Her US performances are based in California and Las Vegas, but she is always looking to extend that to include performances in other states and countries.

Her shows have been known to include dances of the mystic veil, cane, sword, and zills.  These accents of her performance make for a spectacular and enchanting experience.  her work has also gone on to include choreography for the US Dance Nationals and production and performance of the famous Dennis Rodman's "Arabian Nights".

Eyes of Arabia strives to combine the cultural dances of belly dance, samba and indian to modern and hip hop dance.  This solo artist main focus is to integrate these forms of dance with the music of today while keeping the movements of each true to their roots.  Her main goal is to collaborate with artist of all music genres for the creation of art in motion that is unique and moving to the audience leaving them captivated and mind blown.

Enchantress of Bioluminosity

The Enchantress of Bioluminosity has always been captivated by synesthesia, a phenomenon where one type of artistic stimulation evokes another. The Enchantress (aka Andrea Beeman) received her BA from Georgetown University, where she immersed herself in art historical studies of the Renaissance as well as the fundamentals of painting and sculpture. Lured to New York City, the capitol of contemporary art, her paintings became three dimensional, but she was still searching for more. At New York University, she found the ephemeral medium of film and began to make Super 8mm shorts while continuing to paint, sculpt and create performance art. During her last semester at New York University, Andrea took an internship with artist William Wegman.

While learning more about photography and video at the Wegman studio, Andrea continued her studies of movement, first exploring Japanese butoh dance. Yokio Waguri of Nakajima influenced her profoundly by comparing her instinctual movement to that of Salome, a suggestion that led her to the discovery of Middle Eastern (belly) dance. She began to study with Anahid Sofian, and then discovered Jajouka, Ibrahim Farrah, Yousry Sharif, Gamila el Masri, Ghassan Fadlallah and Elena Lentini as well. Although her focus had now shifted to Middle Eastern dance, Andrea continued to supplement her training with flamenco, ballet, yoga, and classical Indian Odissi dance studies.

Jenna

Jenna began her dance training at the age of four with ballet. In 1991, she turned her attention to middle-eastern dance, and took her first lessons in a small restaurant in Berkeley, California. She continued her practice of this beautiful dance form through university, taking college courses in ballet & modern as well.

Once back east in New York City, she intensified her study of belly dance at Anahid Sofian Studios with Andrea Anwar, and then intensified her training at Serena Studios (with Serena and Azza Amon) where she taught from 1998 through 2004. That year, Jenna was selected to form the trio Bellyqueen: Danse Orientale, with whom she created and performed original choreographies until 2002.
